It is great! I loved it so much, I bought the company. I mean, I bought one for my mother (who in turn bought one for her creative fibre group's library).
The "sequel" is great too - handy guide to cast-offs, especially good if you like doing toe-up socks. Heaps more stitch patterns, and a toe-up and toe-down variation with different heels,etc, for each.
I highly recommend both books - they're great references, and allow for a lot of creativity and easier size variations than a lot of other sock books do.
